My name is Karthik Reddy (First name) Kothakota (Last name). I am pursuing my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor at Michigan.

This email is regarding the application for the OMLP program in India. I went through the program details. Since I’m an international student at Michigan, I am not eligible for the OMLP-USA program. After speaking to several GE executives on campus, I found out that there is a similar OMLP program in India too. But this does not seem to be the case on the website as there is nothing given about OMLP programs back in India.

I am interested in GE’s OMLP program. It sounds interesting and exciting. But there is insufficient information about this opportunity in India. I request you to direct me to the concerned website and appraise me of the requisite application process and recruitment times during the year. Also there seems to be no search parameter for internships in India. If I search the career site, all I get are job listings that need a minimum of years of experience. Kindly help me with this too.

OMLP hires through our careers system internationally rather than through the campus system. There doesn’t appear to be a posting in India at this time, so we recommend creating a job agent that will notify you when OMLP in India postings become available.

I’m doing my Integrated M.Tech in Engineering Physics from IT-BHU. Although only for Robotics, I have had some experience in image processing in MATLAB and am interested in medical imaging.

I applied for the 2011 Graduate Research Internship through http://www.ge.com/internship, Job# 1240175 and submitted my application in January 2011. In my application status it still shows that my resume has not been reviewed..!!.It also happened when I applied in 2009..and it was never reviewed and finally closed. So does GE rejects application without reviewing ??..or if I submit any application against a job no. through online it will never get reviewed..!!…

it is really good to see an active response, though it is not useful. I appreciate the effort.

Though the site pointed out is with a good intention, the points listed out ( 7 to be precise ) is pretty basic and going my no comments there, you can understand how useful it is.

My real question was, if a software professional who has a progressive experience in the same Medical domain and having worked for compititors like Siemens & Philips; do not get his/her resume shortlisted even? This really baffles me. I hope you take this well meant observation with a sense of professional dignity. The interesting thing is most of the JDs are pretty generic.

I applied to Energy – Oil & Gas for the position of CLP (Job Number 1490311) on 20th Jan 2012, on 30st March I received a mail saying that this position has been cancelled. Now on 9 March, CLP GE Energy has been posted the same with ID 1523696.

There is another strange thing that the job description say the guy has to job by April 2011.

I am Praveen, Basically a Electrical & Electronics Graduate. I am working with one of a major power generation utility in India. I am working here as a Gradudate Engineer Trainee and working on site. I work for Electrical Maintenace Dprt and Management Information Systems as well. I am looking for a switch into GE for a long association.
