On Wednesday, March 14, GE Appliances & Lighting will begin accepting 10,000 new applications to fill 230 manufacturing production positions that will support new product launches at Louisville’s Appliance Park. Applications will be accepted online from 6:30 a.m. Wednesday until 4 p.m. on Friday, March 16, or until 10,000 applications have been received. The starting hourly rate for the positions will be $13.03.

An even better sign for Americans struggling with unemployment, 80 percent of the CFOs surveyed by GE said they expect to hire additional employees in the next 12 months — 65 percent having already begun hiring. Those planning to hire expect to increase their workforces by six percent this year, and 80 percent of those positions are expected to be permanent.
