Chris Thomas, Global Recruiting Director for GE, is looking for MBAs to join the company’s incredible two-year Experienced Commercial Leadership Programme. The ECLP is a two-year rotational program with three eight-month assignments in the marketing and sales functions of GE’s different businesses. It runs in ten territories around the world, reflecting GE’s incredible global reach. Chris Thomas is the Global Recruiting Director for the ECLP, based out of Connecticut and he gave us an in-depth perspective on GE, the ECLP, and the enduring value of an MBA education.

Interviewers are people, too. Building a rapport from the start is the best way to make a good first impression. So look your interviewer in the eye, shake his hand, and say hello. “Take the initiative in the introductions,” says Chris Thomas, global recruiting director for the Experienced Commercial Leadership Program at General Electric (GE) in Fairfield, Conn. “Ask me, ‘How are you?’” Small talk shows that applicants know how to be human and deal with people, including teammates and clients.
