David Groth, GE Aviation Plant Leader, Madisonville Plant, advised local leaders Friday that the GE Madisonville plant will be hiring 48 Flex machinists for the plant. The Madisonville plant manufactures high precision aviation parts for General Electric turbine engines. The new positions are coming open due to continued demand growth for GE Aviation engines and spare parts. The positions will pay over $25 per hour plus benefits. All positions will be union and be members of the IUE. Becky Lingo, HR Leader for the plant, said that applicants must apply with a local Kentucky On-Stop location or Office of Employment & Training from February 7th to February 11th. Lingo said GE Madisonville is seeking highly motivated machine operators with a high school diploma or equivalent, good math and communication skills, and are willing to work in a multi-shift environment. Preferred candidates will have previous experience in a team-based, manufacturing environment working with precision instruments.
