Innovation and Growth “Inextricably Linked,” GE’s New Global Innovation Barometer Finds

GE recently released its second annual Global Innovation Barometer, a survey of nearly 3,000 U.S. and foreign business executives on innovation. The report identified innovation as “inextricably linked” with economic growth and as the primary driver behind job creation and the rising quality of life.

I was a sales leader at GE for 33 years in Lighting. I am now working in a very unique and innovative program for juniors/seniors in high school. We do project/profession-based learning. Interesting lknniig innovation with values. I think of innovation flowing from market needs. (Of course market needs, in this day and age, generally flow from values. My son is involved as a scientist in creating fuel and fuel systems that are more efficient and reduce the amount of petroleum required others are involved in creating fuel by less eco-degrading means. Quite frankly, the company he works for has to make money and thus want to market lucrative patents. Nevertheless their sources of funding are from large non-profit,ethical foundations. Just some thoughts.
