America's most reputable companies

Forbes recently announced the results of its 2012 list of the “Most Reputable Companies in the U.S.” GE was ranked as the 21st most reputable company on the list, jumping up an incredible 44 spots since 2011. In 1Q 2012, the Reputation Institute conducted an online study among 10,000 consumers. It measured consumers’ perceptions of those companies among the 150 largest in the U.S. with which they were “somewhat” or “very” familiar. Each company earned a “RepTrak Pulse” score of 0 to 100, representing an average measure of people’s feelings for a company. The scores were derived from four emotional indicators: trust, esteem, admiration, and good feeling.
