Martha Martin, PE
Hi Martha,

Thanks for your interest in GE!
Thank you GE. While I may not fit the model of newly graduated recruits I worked at GE CF for 7 years and grew my knowledge and resume while being fairly compensated plus developed a great deal of friends. I urge all of you to do what you must to join GE and you will never look back. Good luck.
Hi GE!
Please advise if ECLP will hire MBAs in Russia in 2010? Thank you.
I have just applied for a finance position with GE; it would be a wonderful opportunity to be employed in such a strong and growing company in today’s economy. Throughout my career I have demonstrated for my employers an exceptionally well-established and dependable employee, and hope to get the opportunity to demonstrate this as well at GE.
Best regards,
Hi Vadim,
You can find out more about ECLP and apply at http://www.ge.com/careers/students/eclp/europe-middle_east-africa.html. Please note that ECLP primarily hires in Western Europe, however you are welcome to apply as the programs are rotational in nature and are not necessarily confined to just one location/business.
Good luck!
Hi Maria,
Glad you applied. You can track the status of your application at http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/ by logging in and clicking JOB SUBMISSION STATUS. Good luck!
I have applied for couple positions and the “Job Submission Status” lists “Resume under review” for HR Status, but it also lists “On hold” for Job status. What does this mean?
Thanks…
Hi BAS,
We’re working to get you an answer on this. It’s possible the job is currently on hold (something may have changed with the position) and that your resume made it as far as being reviewed even though the job is currently on hold. We’ve put in an inquiry to our experts and will get back to you soon.
Thanks for your patience!
Hi BAS,
Checked with the web team and they confirmed the original response. Your resume made it as far as the review stage but the position is currently on hold. Unfortunately we don’t have an ETA on when the job will move forward, if at all. Please feel free to apply to other positions that interest you.
We are also working on an email notification system that will give you updates as they happen so you won’t need to log in to check the status of your applications. Stay tuned!
Hi GE
I have applied for number of positions online. In all the cases, Resume Submitted is appearing in HR Status. What is the next stage? Is Resume under Review the Next stage? But the job status for even the job late as October, the HR status is appearing as Resume Submitted.
Kindly guide.

Ahmad Jalil

Will GE be hiring for the Human Resources Leadership Program? I graduated with my MBA in strategic leadership & management in August 2008. I started my own business as a business consultant and have since work as Chief Administrative Officer overseeing the human resource function within a small size organization (over 100+pp). I have a passion for organizational growth and development and believe that paricipation in GE’s HRLP would be an excellent opportunity to learn for the industries best. Would I be eligible to apply for this program? What is the application deadline? Are you accepting new entrance this year? If accepted when would the program start?

Hi GE
I want to bring to your attention one job posting Job#: 1158180, Executive Commercial Leadership Program. I have few questions regarding this posting:
On GE website I am able to find details related to Experienced CLP, however there is no program such as Executive CLP. Is this some specialized program?
In case of Experienced CLP, Masters is compulsory. What about this Executive CLP? As in the Qualification/ Requirements field Bachelors in Engineering is mentioned, whereas in the Desired Characteristics Master is mentioned.
I am working in Saudi Arabia on a work permit. Am I eligible to apply for this job?

I had a couple of phone interviews with the GE team for a position. After a few days of the second interview my “HR Status” on Online Job Tracking page changed to “On-site Interview planned/in-progress” but I have not got any e-mail yet. Its been 4-5 days since the status has changed. Could you please let me know what this status means…
Thank you and Regards.
I applied for ‘NPI Project Manager. MAPICS expert. GE competitor Vestas Wind Technologies would have hired me except I would either have to move my family to Oregon or travel 80-100% internationally. Neither was acceptable. Please look at this.
Hi Aneita,
What would you like us to look into specifically?
Hi Anand,
It’s likely just taking time. Please be patient and check back into the system at least once a week to confirm your status. So long as it indicates that the interview is in-progress you’re still in the running.
We are working on a system that will email you status updates that should launch this year.

Hi GE, I am looking for a position in logistic. I have acquired an exceptional experience working for a bank in London (International trade). I have even dealt with GE in Britain as customer. Thanks in advance for your response.
Best regards. Rachid. (French and English speaker).
Hi Rachid,
Please see http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&function=Logistics.
Good luck!
Hi Johnny,
Your best bet is to focus on one program. It’s unlikely you qualify for multiple programs, so focus on one that best suits your interests and skills. Applying to multiple programs will not increase your chances of being accepted.
Good luck!
Hi Zabidi,
For a list of positions in Malaysia see http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&country=Malaysia&career_level=Experienced. If you don’t find a position that suits your interests consider creating an account and then setting up a job agent that will email you when positions become available.

Hi Sarah,
To apply for positions in Greenville, South Carolina please visit http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&country=United+States&state=South+Carolina&city=Greenville. We do not currently have a specific opening for machine operators or x-ray technicians — we received so many applications that all of those positions were filled. However, similar positions in Greenville will be posted in the future.
To ensure you’re notified when future positions are posted, consider creating an account at http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/. After creating an account and uploading your resume, you can create a job agent that will email you when the jobs you’re interested in become available.
Thanks for your interest in GE!

Hello there. My name is Lisa Dickerson and I work for Education Futures Group, owners of Computer Career Center and Vista College. We have campuses located in El Paso, Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas. We are currently in the process of creatiing a Wind Turbine Technology program and are interested in possible partnership opportunities with GE Power. I would like to know if there is someone I can speak with directly about possibly creating a partnership in regards to this program
HI, I am interested to join GE, India in electrical/Control engineering deptt. I have gained experience in Automation/Electrical/Control Systems/Instrumentation. Kindly help me.

Hello –
I am relocating back to Connecticut on or about may 31st. I recently applied to a few job opportunities that fit my experience like a glove. however I am noticing it states “no longer considered for this position” within 24 hours. Why would this be the case? I have a 15 plus year career in operations, compliance/legal and consulting (auditing, SOX, process Engineering, etc with solid corporations and a Big 4 firm). When I read these descriptions they sound like a complete fit to my resume so I am confused, especially with such a quick turn around. Is there something I am doing incorrectly? Or not doing? I think that I can bring a lot to the table and GE is one of the firms that I have always wanted to apply when I relocated back so I’d love to better understand what I can do to bring my credentials better exposure.
Thank you for any advice. (FYI: My profile is connected to my provided email address)
Hi Theresa,
Due to the high volume of applications we receive it is necessary for our fist pass of any applications to be automated. The software screened you out.

Hi Valerie,
We’re not familiar with this program but are tracking it down. When we find out more we’ll be sure to share.
Generally speaking, the best place to start is with the person you heard it from. Call customer service and ask for more information and they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hello, I’m persuing a wind power insustry and I am wodering if a trade school named North West Renewable Energy Institute is a sufficient replacement to formal education. If so, are you likely to hire a successful gradute from this institution in Vanvouver, Wa USA. Any infornmation would be greatly appreciated and valued. Thank you. Brian
Hi Brian,
Each position lists its requirements. We can’t make commitments to any particular school however and attending a particular institution is no guarantee of employment. Your best bet is to review the wind power positions you’re interested in to see if it lists “trade school” as a possible requirement.
Good luck!
I applied for a job a couple months ago. I did a phone interview a week or so later, then the following week did an on the site interview and testing. After all of this, the ‘HR Status’ went from being ‘resume under review’ to ‘Onsite interview planned/in progress’. It has been 4-5 weeks since the status has changed. What does this mean? I have already gone to my onsite interview, so what is next?
Thank you for your time.
Hi Patrick,
Our apologies for the delay. It’s likely the status update was behind the reality of your interview progress. If you don’t hear back in another week, please consider other opportunities at http://www.ge.com/careers. We are working on a system that will proactively email you when updates to the system happen so you’re proactively kept up to date as changes in your status happen.
I applied for a position and its current status is ‘Closed’ but my application status is still ‘Resume under review’ for this. Can you explain whether I’m still being considered for the position or the position is gone already.
Hi Spark,
That means the position was closed even though you passed the first screen. Sorry for the inconvenience, please feel free to apply to any other position at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Good luck!

Hi, I recently applied for two positions with GE Information Technology Infrastructure and i have since updated my resume. My current Status is “Resume Submitted But Not Yet Reviewed” Is there any way i can attach my updated resume/CV to an already applied position? They are both currently saved on my profile which is linked to this email address i am using.
Hello,
I had a couple of phone interviews with the GE team for a position yesterday. Today, my “HR Status” on Online Job Tracking page changed to “On-site Interview planned/in-progress” but I have not got any e-mail yet. Could you please let me know what this status means…have I progressed to the next stage?
Thank you and Regards.
Hi Aruj,
It’s like the electronic system is ahead of the phone process. You should be notified soon.
Thanks for your patience!
Hi Tarell,
Once you apply for a position a snapshot is taken of your resume. Updating your resume now will not update the application. If you would like to update your resume for the new position you will need to reapply.
I submitted my resume online and my submission status says it has not been reviewed yet. I am wondering if there I could physically go to ge and hand in my resume. I have been waiting for an opportunity like this for a long time and I do not want to miss it if there is a computer glitch. I am just not sure where I need to go. How long does it normally take for review? Thank you for your time.
Dana Holloman
Hi Dana,
Application times vary by position. Please do not go to a site — for one, you won’t be able to get past security. For another, the location for some positions (especially rotational programs) varies by assignment. Rest assured, if you are selected for the position a GE representative will contact you.
Thank you for your patience!
I used my 10 years experience as a researcher to make a proposal to GE leadership (CFO, Controller,…) to accommodate me as executive trainee (paid or not). The position is a replica posted by another CT company with a need to groom a leader.
My question is, do you have any personal knowledge of approved job proposal? (it is not listed yet but I am still negotiating because I want to be part of something big and complex called GE)
Arthur Mboue
Another question is, if someone was hired as a R Micheal Gadbaw Fellow and instead of performing international law function he was instead responsible for researching and evaluating technical issues (SEC reporting, accounting policy and SOX compliance) and request information in order to implement financial reporting processes for controllership and finance leaders to ensure compliance with US and foreign accounting laws, regulation and SEC prodedures. will the HR recognize him as a GE R. Michael Gadbaw fellow- Technical advisor, location: Washington, DC, US?
Arthur Mboue
Thanks you for the quick response. I am waiting patiently.

am a 3rd year Glasgow University Student. I was looking through Summer placements available on the Glasgow Uni website and saw one with job reference number 1172469. The closing date was advertised as 10/05/10 but when I sat down to write my application today I found your GE Careers website telling me it had expired. I would still like to submit my application, since the closing date has not passed. Could you advise me how best to do this?

Hi GE
I am writing with reference to my blog dated 03/13/2010 in which I said that the HR Status for the my applied jobs is appearing Resume Submitted. As per your guidance, the next step will Resume Under Review. However, I just checked HR Status, the status is appearing as “Resume Submitted but not yet reviewed”. This appearing for the jobs as old Oct 2009 and even for the jobs which have closed. What does this message mean?
Regards
Ahmad Jalil
Hi!
I seek additional information about your posted job (www.ge.com/careers), job number 117060, GE Capital, Manager- External Reporting, I was wondering if this manager will have a rank of SEC reporting assistant controller (like Robert DeGennaro, in charge of all GE assets holding reporting to the SEC)
Sincerely
Arthur Mboue, MBA, JD
Hi Ahmad,
Your resume review is independent of when the job opens or closed. If the job is filled quickly it’s possible that your resume will not be reviewed and the job closed before the recruiting team gets to your resume. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll be sure to remind our recruiting teams to notify candidates that the position has been closed. Rest assured, if you are selected for the position a GE representative will contact you. Please feel free to apply to other positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Thanks for your interest in GE!
Hi Arthur,
Unfortunately we can’t answer specific questions about jobs on this blog. Please apply and if you are a good fit, a GE representative will contact you who can answer your questions.

Hi GE Team,
I am really interested in GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) and have extensive experience in marketing, client relations, and new business development primarily within the financial industry.
I would like to know, prior to applying, if individuals who are post-MBA (2006 MBA) would be eligible for consideration?
I appreciate your taking the time to answer my question.
Sincerely,

Hi Dana,
Your best bet is to ask on the ECLP Blog at http://eclpblog.com.
Hope that helps!
Hi GE Team,
I was invited for the second phone interview but unfortunately no one has called me. I didn’t receive email as well. What could have happened? I suppose that if I don’t come up with your expectations regarding candidate profile you will send proper email.
Sincerely,
Tomas
I recently applied for the marketing internship position at the LA location. The link to the exact job is here:
http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/jobs/Intern-Marketing/Financial-Services-Operations/GE-Capital/United-States/Los-Angeles?jobid=1180886&country=United+States&career_level=Co-op%2FIntern
I just finished my junior year at Boston College, where I study marketing. I have attempted to contact multiple people at GE, and I was wondering if there was someone I could speak with further regarding this position, because I am greatly interested. Although I live in New York, I would be able to provide my own housing and transportation in LA.
Thanks,
Michael Matosic

I applaud GE for finally rolling out more information about the ECLP program (it’s been much too scarce).
Much question is, does Canada have the ECLP program in Canada? If so, how do we apply, because it’s not apparent.
Thanks,
Vern
I submitted a new resume for a job, and now the history of the submission states “This resume/CV has not been submitted to any jobs.” How do I make sure the new resume is submitted to the job I applied before I submitted the updated resume?
Hi Vern,
Try asking your question at http://www.eclpblog.com, as they can answer it in more detail there.
Hope that helps!
Hi Chris,
When you apply to a position, a snapshot is taken of your resume and uploaded. To add another copy you will need to reapply.
Hope that helps!
The job which I initially applied to is no longer listed under openings. How can I reapply, with an updated resume, to the job that I already applied to?
Dear geblogs,
Today I was interviewed by HR Specialist via phone. I was very surprised that my resume will be an advantage. salute for GE recruitment progress. it is my first pleasure interview
Hi Chris,
That means the position has been closed. Please search for similar positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.

I applied for a position on Feb end this year and the status is still “Resume submitted but not yet reviewed”. Now I find that the same position is updated as of 20th May 2010. I am wondering why the entire pool of resumes are not reviewed before updating the job posting.
I am attending a university in Denmark for Master of Science in Wind Energy in the fall, and I recently graduated with undergraduate degree in math and physics. I’m in Boston this summer, and I would very much like to intern at GE Energy headquarters in Massachusetts. Who do I talk to for a summer position in renewable energy?
Hi Narayanan,
Due to the volume of submissions we receive it’s sometimes necessary to update positions on the fly. Our apologies for the inconvenience. If you believe you are still a good fit for the position please feel free to reapply. Rest assured if you are a good fit a GE representative will contact you.
Thank you for your patience!
Hi Suren,

I have a question about the hiring policies of GE.
I am a rising senior at Purdue University and am considering GE as a top candidate for employment. I was wondering if the hiring decision weighs heavily on the GPA. I realize it probably depends on the position but is the industry standard 3.0 a general rule of thumb or not.
I have had many leadership positions and also have industry experience and hoping to use those as my strong points.
Regardless, i will try but i was curious.
Thanks,
Harsh
I am a 29 year old Materials Science M Sc post-graduate at present in teaching field have applied for Entry-level R&D job in GE.Will I be considered at this age for an entry position? Or else …Chances of me being called for interview is Thin?
Hi Harsh,
Requirements vary by position. If there is a GPA listed in the requirements for a program, you can assume that is a set standard and that you will not be accepted if you do not meet the requirements. That said, not every position requires a minimum GPA. Check the individual job posting for more information at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Good luck!
Hi Anupama,
If you have the appropriate skill set for the position your application will be considered equally along with every other qualified applicant.
Good luck!
Hi,
I applied for the position of Market Analyst in your Nigeria office, and after a couple of weeks I checked on my HR status in your career section only to see ‘GE is not pursuing your candidacy for this position’. I was wondering the implication of this statement? Because I was looking forward to an interview. Is there any reason for this?
I applied for a position more than one month ago and the status has been “Resume Currently being Reviewed” for about 4 weeks now. How long does it normally take to get to the next step from here?
Hi GE Careers,

Hi,
I am wanting to apply with GE aviation in Greenville, SC however, I am running into a few problems finding position openings. I think I am selecting the wrong matches on the drop down menus. Is aviation in the Energy division or what? Your response is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi Linda,
You can apply for Greenville positions here: http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&keyword=greenville&country=United+States&city=Greenville
Best bet is to type “greenville” into the search and then look at the navigation on the left. Click “United States” and it filters from there.
Good luck!
Hello GE,
I am a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Chicago, actively looking for my first engineering career opportunity.
I, first applied for EEDP at GE and have always wanted to apply further. But, my work authorization is optional practical training. Will my resume be considered at all if I apply, going by my work status?
Thank you.
Shivangini
Hi Shivangini,
Please review requirements carefully to apply for EEDP at http://www.ge.com/eedp. You are welcome to apply to any position in regions in which you have citizenship — GE does not sponsor work visas.

I would like to know, if you still offer by chance an apprenticeship training position in combination with an economical study for this year.

hello
if someone is already working with GE as a contractor ( i.e. non GE employee)and found an opening in GE career website in a very similar position and same location so what his next step should be , does he apply for the position and put in his resume that he is currently working at GE? and by working as Contractor in GE will that favor him on other candidates? or should he contact his team leader or manager and tell him about his interest in the new opening position? , could you please elaborate more on how to act in such situation
Hi Ihab,
You should definitely review the contractual agreement you signed upon joining your company — there may be rules that prevent you from applying for a similar job at GE. Assuming you are not legally prohibited from doing so, you are welcome to visit http://www.ge.com/careers, sign up, and apply for the position.
You should accurately list all of your experience, including any experience you have working as a contractor for GE, in your resume. You will not necessarily be favored because of your experience, but it certainly can’t hurt. It’s best if you’re open and honest about your career goals with all managers (your contract agency as well as anyone you work with at GE), but ultimately you know your personal situation best — use your best judgment.
Good luck!
I’m sick of hearing ‘please feel free to apply for many other positions at ge’ when there are none out there in my field!
Hi,
I’m looking for an entry level job in GE Global Research Centre (R&D Materials Science).I’m in teaching field right now but interested in GE Company. At 29 years of age with no Industry Experience will I be considered for R&D Entry level job?I am M Sc Materials Science graduate with 69% marks.Kindly advice….
Hi Jon,
Sorry to hear you’re frustrated. You can set up a job agent at http://www.ge.com/careers so you are emailed when positions that match your interests become available. It’s also possible that GE doesn’t have the kinds of jobs for your particular skillset, in which case GE may not be right for you.

Hi
I applied for a GE Position 11-Jun-2010 and now I see the Job status “Open” and HR status “Resume currently being reviewed”. What does this mean? Can I think something positive about this status or is this status message common for all applicant? Please advise.
Thank you
Hi Logi,
Congratulations on making it to the next step. If you did not meet the requirements you would quickly see a message that indicates you are no longer being considered for the position. That said, it can sometimes take weeks for recruiters to update the status. Rest assured that if you are a good fit for the position a GE representative will contact you. If you don’t hear anything in another week please consider applying for other jobs at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Good luck!
I am Prakash, Masters student at University of florida. Recently i applied a position at GE Energy on May 20th, for which i think my profile was exactly matching all requirements.
Right now, my job status shows “resume currently being reviewed”. As per your old messages, it shows i have passed first screen, but when can i expect interview call and by prior will i get intimation in email?
Else will there be any other status change before i get a call?
Thank you.

Dear Sir,
kindly give a Empolyee selection procedure..
Hi Riyasdeen,
Selection varies by position and requirements. That said, you should absolutely be sure you meet all the requirements of a position so our screening software does not immediately reject you from the system.
Hope that helps!
To whom this may concern,
I am currently a graduate student at Cornell University working towards a M.Eng. in Systems Engineering. One major degree requirement is the completion of a systems engineering project, typically working with industry. Several students within our program are interested in working with GE on any available wind power or renewable energy projects, in a systems engineering capacity. Would you be able to assist me in getting in touch with any points of contacts within the company? I appreciate your help!
Very respectfully,
Alfred Smith
Hi Alfred,
The best way to work for GE is to visit http://www.ge.com/careers, search for jobs, and apply. To find a list of renewable energy positions please see http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&keyword=renewable&function=Engineering%2FTechnology&career_level=Entry-Level

In response to the comments above, all of the students are currently employed – we are all distance learning students. What we are looking for is co-op work with GE on any of their projects. Do any of these opportunities exist? Thank you for your help…
Dear Sir,
Now currently interviewed in GE, but unqualified for that position. when GE give next interview.
Hi Alfred,
You can find more information about co-ops at http://www.ge.com/internship (which also covers co-ops). If you’re looking specifically for a distance learning opportunity with GE we don’t currently offer co-ops in that fashion.
Hope that’s helpful!
Hi Ryasdeen,
Sorry to hear you didn’t get the job. Please feel free to apply to other positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.

I have a MS in EE from University of Lowell (Massachusetts) in 1995, then worked as a video software engineer since then at large companies such as Nortel, Picturetel, Agfa, etc. I also hold a couple patents on image/video compressions.
Recently I have been very interested in the Gas turbine technology and would like to become a Field Engineer at GE. I came across your training program website and was wondering if that’s a possibility for me to join the program and how much it costs.
Hi Ali,
Please visit http://www.ge.com/careers for engineering jobs in general. For the Edison Engineering Development Program please see http://www.ge.com/eedp.
Good luck!
I think that this blog is great and would like to use it in our businesses newsletter or post it on our homepage for other interns to see. As an intern myself, I wanted to know which would be the best step to take with trying to join the GE family? I love my current position and location, but I am also interested in exploring the leadership programs. Is there a way to do both after I graduate?
I have applied for a position online in which my status is resume under review. What is the next status for job positions? Also how long does the review process normally take?
Hi Ricketta,
If you’re an intern at GE you’ve taken a very important first step. At GE we consider interns a major source of talent for future growth at GE. Since you’re a GE employee your number one advantage is being within GE — reach out to other GE team members: managers, HR managers, and leadership program participants. Ask them to lunch. They’ll give you a great perspective and pointers on next steps.
Good luck!
Hi Tarell,
Review processes vary by position. Your next status will be either a notification of consideration for your position or that the position should be closed, but sometimes recruiters don’t update jobs as quickly as we would like. Rest assured if you are a good fit a GE representative will contact you. If you don’t hear back in a few weeks please feel free to apply to other positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Good luck!
Hello GE,
I’m an experienced Industrial Designer/Project Manager, and am fully qualified for the position(posted 07/20/10)Industrial Designer/Project Manager III-HC,ID:329402 – however, it appears the position may not be available just three days after posting. Can you confirm if can still submit for this? Also, the posting was listed as in California, but the description lists as in Waukesha, WI.
Best regards,
Bill Ungar
Hi,
I have applied to the position of Dielectrics Engineer (Job Number:1235822). I will soon be a new PhD graduate and my skill set aligns very well with the requirements of the position. However one of the requirements states “unrestricted work authorization in the US is required for all candidates”. If a candidate does not satisfy this condition does it automatically disqualify him from consideration for the position? Can you comment on this particular position?
i have done B-Tech in Aeronautical from india.i want looking for job in GE.i have work experience as trainee quality control engineer.and i was an implant trainee in Air India.now iam on F1 visa,so can i work in GE through CPT(curriculm practical training)?
Hi Bill,
A quick search didn’t bring up the posting either. If you are unable to find the posting on GE Careers it’s likely that it has been closed. Please feel free to apply to other opportunities at http://www.ge.com/careers and set up a Job Agent so you are notified as soon as opportunities are available.
Good luck!
Hi Sujay,
That is correct. You will be automatically screened out electronically in the first pass of all applicants. Please only submit to positions in which you fulfill all the requirements.
Good luck!
Hi ganesh,
Please visit http://www.ge.com/careers to search for positions and apply. The position requirements will explain what level of visa is necessary to apply.

I have a step daughter going to Siena in Albany NY. She is starting her 3rd year in the fall. She would love to get an internship with GE to give her a feel for corporate america. Is there anyone she can contact ? The internships listed only has two positions in Schenectady where she is located. I would think GE would have more available in our area. She lives in Schenectady. Any suggestions ?
Hi Rae-Marie,
The only positions we have available are those listed on the web site. You can view a list here: http://www.ge.com/jobsearch/results.jsp?&country=United+States&city=Schenectady&career_level=Co-op%2FIntern
Please note that the onboarding for interns has already passed and any new internships will probably be for summer 2011. If you don’t see an internship that suits her interests, please have her create an account at http://www.ge.com/careers and set up a job agent which will email her when internships in Schenectady become available.
Good luck!
I applied for 1216221. Job shows as Open in Job Submission status, but is no longer on search list.

Hi Steve,
If the position isn’t posted it has been taken down for new applicants, but the resumes are still being reviewed. Be sure to check your job submission status to stay up to date on your application.

I applied for a position and its current status is ‘Resume currently being reviewed. What is the next status? The Resume has been in this status for about a week. Thank You
My question is are there are any openings in the United States in this program? And where would I apply to that? I have tried to find it on the website, but I always get stuck on the Aviation OMLP program.
If you could help me out with that, or refer me to someone who could help me out, that would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Chris Doty

Does GE sponsor for H1 work visas for foreign students who have graduated from US universities? Thanks
Hi Lorna,
Generally speaking, GE does not sponsor work visas. Please check the requirements of the each job listing as it will clearly identify your required citizenship status.
Good luck!
I have applied the GE in different positon for Software Engineer . And i have around about 3 years experience in .net technologies. My interview has been done for this position 1176166 but after the interview i have still looked the same status of my application “Resume currently being reviewed”. Can you please update regarding my application.
Thanks In advance
Hi Waqar,
Sorry for the delay. Rest assured that if you are a good fit for the position a GE representative will contact you. If you don’t hear back in a few weeks, please consider applying to other positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.

Hello,
I have applied for 19 positions with NBC News/MSNBC and all have come back: Resume submitted but not yet reviewed. I am convinced I am doing something wrong. I have 10 years experience in television news producing and as a writer/associate producer on a national cable news show. Is there anything I can do to make sure I am given a fair shot at positions I know I would be an asset?
Hi GE Careers,
I’m really interested in joining GE and I’ve applied for Job#1186024, I was informed and did an on site interview the week before last week, then last Tuesday did a phone interview. I checked Job submission status recently and found that HR status is still showing “Resume submitted but not yet reviewed”, but Job status is showing “Closed”. Please can you advise what it means and if I’m still considered for the position.
Thank you!
Hi Jacinto,
The best thing you can do is make sure you absolutely fit all the requirements listed in the position. A software screen automatically removes anyone who doesn’t exactly match the requirements from consideration — if you fail even one of the requirements you will be screened out. That said, the other trait that’s most important is persistence. The competition for positions is very strong in the current global economy, with some positions receiving in excess of a thousand applicants.
Good luck!
Hi Neo,
It usually means the position isn’t taking on further applicants. That said, your application is not reflected appropriately in our system. Please call the contact you interviewed with for an update.
Good luck!
Thanks so much for your quick response. I’ve got the update from my contact and they’ve already chosen another candidate. It’s a little disappointed but I will try to apply for other positions. Thanks again for your support.
I read on the EEDP page that GE doesn’t hire people with non-immigrant visas in USA. Is that true for all the positions or only for the EEDP?
The screen filter that you mentioned at drops off the unfit applicants, is that applied so strong for entry level positions too?
Because for most entry level positions, there is hardly any requirement except the Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Will that drop out an resume that has Bachelor of engineering and not science?
Also, the screening is done for cover letter and resumes both or just the resume?
I submitted a resume for a job,on 10th may 2010, after a few weeks a did a phone interview and they informed me that i will be contacted for another interveiw, but unfortantly till now, i didn’t have anothor one,now the HR status is “Resume currently being reviewed” but when i check the view submissions history of the cv manager window the statuts is “This resume/CV has not been submitted to any jobs” could you please informe me what does it mean? & is there any chance for this position? plaese be informed that the position is updated and its status is still open.tahnks a lot
Kindest Regards
Mohamed
Hi Viren,
GE generally doesn’t provide work visas for positions, but you should always check the job description — it will indicate required levels of citizenship under the requirements section.
Hope that helps!
Hi Viren,
Good questions. You can assume that there’s always a software screen — there’s no easy way to tell, as whether or not a recruiter uses this technology depends on the speed of processing the job, the number of actual and expected applicants, and the recruiter’s skills in using the technology. To clarify for a Bachler of Science in Engineering that means the degree should be “B.S. in Engineering” — it is not a separate discipline, so there would be no “B.S. in Science.” It’s possible of course to have a B.S. in a specific scientific discipline that has the word “science” in it.
The screening is for the resume, not the cover letter.
Hope that helps!
Hi Mohamed,
Sorry about the delay. Due to the volume of applications we receive our recruiters don’t always get to the jobs as quickly as we like. If you haven’t heard since May, we recommend applying for a different position. Rest assured if you are a good fit a GE representative will contact you.
Good luck!
I had a onsite interview at GE Peterborough on July 22, 2010 for a Manufacturing Engineer (NPI) position. My online status still says onsite interview planned/in progress. The job listing is expired or no longer exists. I was told decision will be in 2 weeks. How long it takes for the decision? Is the position still open? Am i still in the running as per the status?
Hi Pankaj,
Sorry you haven’t heard. Please contact the person you interviewed with. Rest assured that if you are a good fit a GE representative will contact you. If you don’t hear in another week please consider applying for other positions at http://www.ge.com/careers.
Good luck!
Thank you for your response. Does the online status onsite interview planned/in progress mean the position is still open and has not been filled?
Hi Pankaj,
It should, but sometimes recruiters fill positions and don’t update the status promptly. Your best bet is to contact the person you interviewed with for an update.
I will contact them. Thank you.
I just have one more question, how long it takes typically from an onsite interview to a job offer?
1-3 weeks?
Thanks.
Thank you so much for the clarifications.
have a nice day!
Mohamed
Hi Pankaj,
It’s hard to quantify a typical duration — it should be under one month, but that can vary by position, number of candidates, etc.
Thank you
I think I wasn’t really clear with my questions. Let me put it up again with an example.
FOR EXAMPLE: For the job posting #1178998
it says “Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering, scientific or other technical position)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. ”
The requirements state BACHELOR OF SCIENCE where as my degree is BACHELOR of ENGINEERING which is essentially the same degree with a different name. But does this difference make the resume DROP OFF during SCREENING?
And
it says GE will only employ people who can legally work in USA, but doesn’t really provide any information on the VISA status. Currently I have an EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION DOCUMENT(EAD) for my Optional Practical Training(OPT) so I am legally allowed to work here but I fall under the non-immigrant visa category.
These 2 things are things which I really need to know because Im investing a lot of time to customize my every single application for GE and If I stumble on the very first block due to my visa status or different degree nomenclature, It would be a very expensive waste of time for me. Can you please give me some solid advice on this issue? Im sure a lot of applicants have this same question.
Thanks for answering my previous questions.
Hi Viren,
Glad you’re asking this. Please note that “essentially the same degree with a different name” is not something that the software distinguishes. If Bachelor of Science is listed as a requirement and that’s not what’s on your application it will likely be rejected by the software screen.
You usually need to have unrestricted work authorization — basically, citizenship, not employment vias or green card.
That said, all these requirements are subject to review for the actual position — this is only general advice, not specific to any particular job. We don’t have specific insight to this job’s requirements.
Hope that helps!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Hi there. What does it mean that ‘GE does not sponsor work visas’? For an example, if I’m not an American Citizen but wants to apply for a GE position in America, how do I obtain a work visa?
Currently I’m completing my PhD in Canada but I’m not a Canadian Permanent Resident or Citizen.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Anba
Hi Anbananthan,
What this means is that GE is unlikely to provide you a work visa for the position. GE has businesses all over the world, so we prefer candidates apply to the countries where they have citizenship. Of course, you should always check the requirements carefully — if the requirements list “unrestricted work authorization” it means you should have citizenship or a green card in the country where the position is listed.
Hope that helps!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Hi there. Thanks for your clarification. Another follow-up and related question would be in regards to those having Canadian Permanent Resident(PR) and Citizen status. In regards to immigration relationship with Canadians (PR and Citizens), is there any special relationship with the USA immigration where Canadians (PR and Citizens) can work in the USA without any working visas? How does the statement ‘GE does not sponsor work visas’ applies to Canadians (PR and Citizens).
Thanks for your clarification.
Take care.
Anba

Hi Waqar,

Duration can be weeks or months depending on need.
Good luck!
Hi Anbananthan,
That question is unfortunately beyond the depth of our knowledge here — it really depends on the position you apply for. Your best bet is to mention your status in your cover letter. Rest assured if you are a good fit a GE representative will contact you who can answer your questions.
Good luck!
Hi
I had applied for an opening at GE last month, and I already had 3 phone interviews and multiple rounds of interviewing on-site at a GE center. But the the HR status still says – “Resume submitted but not yet reviewed” .. Whom do I contact to get this clarified?
Moreover usually, how long does it take for the company to get to a candidate after an on-site interview?
Thanks
Hi Mack,
Our apologies for the delay. Due to the overwhelming number of applications we receive our recruiters don’t always update application status as quickly as we would like. Your best bet is to contact the GE representatives you interviewed with for an update. Response times vary by position — if you don’t hear back in another week please consider applying to other jobs at http://www.ge.com/careers. Rest assured that if you are a good fit a GE representative will follow up with you.
Good luck!
