GE Growth Drives #Ellison Expansion

Ellison Surface Technologies will add 50 new jobs by the end of the year with 40 more jobs on the horizon for next year at its new satellite manufacturing plant in Rutland Town. That’s in addition to the 126 workers employed at the Ellison Surface Technologies main plant in the Airport Business Park in North Clarendon. As a major subcontractor to GE Aviation, Ellison’s 15,000-square-foot space on Quality Lane will make aircraft engine parts for the Rutland GE plant. Ellison will also perform coating work for GE’s Hooksett N.H., plant.

I worked with 2 surface coating companies in the 70 and 80′s while employed in Thompson Engineering Lab in Lynn, MA. But never heard about Ellison….can someone fill me in with the background and what parts are being coated with what?
I realize that technologies change with time and would be interested in keeping up to date with this subject. Plus I might have soething to say about the company and it’s products.
Ellison Surface Technologies has been operating in Rutland, Vermont since 1997 and maintains a strong partnership with GE-Aviation for coating and special process technologies.
As a result of consistent quality and delivery, Ellison has grown and expanded its product offering for both GE as well as other companies within the aviation component manufacturing market.
The two Ellison facilities in Rutland combine to offer a variety of processes including, but not limited to, HVOF, plasma spray, dry film lube, heat treating, slurry coatings and shot peening.
The processes are being utilized to enhance the performance of a mix of hardware, primarily hot section components within aviation gas turbines.
I hope this helps shed a bit of light on this particular blog posting.
